Good morning.A citizens' group has taken the City of Parkersburg to court over a controversial new trash contract. The committee filed a motion in Wood County Circuit Court after the city clerk threw out their referendum petition, despite the group gathering over three-thousand valid signatures to force a public vote. A circuit judge will now decide the matter.In state judicial news, parole has been denied for one of the women convicted in the notorious twenty-twelve murder of sixteen-year-old Skylar Neese. The state parole board rejected the release of Rachel Shoaf for the third time, keeping her behind bars at the Lakin Correctional Center.And the City of Parkersburg is handing over eleven-thousand dollars to the Wood County Society.
